Head
of Reference and Government Documents Librarian
Description: The L. Mendel Rivers Library at
Charleston Southern University has an immediate
opening for a Head of Reference and Government
Documents Librarian.
Qualifications: ALA accredited master’s
degree required. Demonstrated knowledge of print
and online resources, including Federal publications;
knowledge of current trends in higher education
and in academic libraries; ability to work collaboratively
with library and faculty colleagues and with
the larger academic community; effective written
and oral communication skills; strong customer
service orientation. Progressively responsible
academic library experience, including Reference
and Government Documents, required.

Responsibilities: The
Head of Reference and Government Documents
offers both traditional

bibliographic instruction, supervises one full-time
employee, and provides direction for the departments.
This 12-month, non-tenure track position carries
faculty
rank.

BIOCHEMISTRY

Biochemistry
Qualifications: Ph.D. in Biochemistry.
Responsibilities: Teach 24 semester hours per
academic year to include a two semester biochemistry
sequence, develop an active and challenging undergraduate
