Welcoming Faith into the Science Classroom
August 12, 2015
Perhaps one of the most significant challenges for Christian teachers in middle school and high school is the integration of faith in the science curriculum. The Charleston Southern University College of Science and Mathematics wants to help! Many private schools in the Charleston area (and beyond) struggle to uphold high academic standards while still completing their mission of integrating God’s truths into the STEM curriculum. CSU has made great progress in this area and has much to offer, particularly where it is needed most, in the high school science curriculum. If you are a middle or high school teacher – or a Christian School administrator, pastor or interested parent – join us on August 12 to discuss this topic. An overview will be followed by breakouts related to the various issues and areas of the STEM curriculum. We’ll even provide lunch as an opportunity for teachers to network with CSU faculty and each other. Then we’ll follow that with a panel discussion on the topics of creation and evolution.
It is no secret that even among Christians, the idea of separation of science and faith is rampant. The reality that faith and worldview informs science is important, and our science faculty is eager to be a resource for schools that too often have only limited resources of their own to put toward this essential priority.
Charleston Southern is providing this opportunity at no cost to those attending. REGISTER TODAY!
