Dear Parent:
Tragic events over the past year signaled to all colleges and universities that a system was needed to accurately and effectively alert the entire campus community. Charleston Southern uses TechRadium’s Immediate Response Information System (IRIS).
In the event of an emergency, IRIS will alert and notify Charleston Southern’s students, faculty and staff through telephone, SMS (texting, if selected) and e-mail communications. IRIS also has the ability to verify that the emergency message reached the intended recipient. This system has been tested and is fully operational.
Required contact information has been uploaded from Charleston Southern’s database – name, address, BucMail address, etc. Parents and students now have the ability to update their IRIS contact information.
Please verify that the following information is correct:
- Student’s First and Last Name
- Emergency Contact phone numbers (up to two may be entered)
- Cell Phone
Please be sure to include the area code with all phone numbers. Also, it is highly recommended that you check the SMS box to the right of each cell phone number as this enables text messages to be delivered. Please note that charges may be applicable for text messages based upon your carrier and plan.
Directions:
1. Go to www.irisdispatch.com/users
2. Your username is your ID number preceded by the letters “csu” (e.g. If your ID number is 9999, then your username would be csu9999)
3. Your password is your full birth date formatted as mmddyyyy (e.g. If your birth date is 01/01/1989, then your password would be 01011989)
If you have issues or questions, please call Brian McGlothlin (843) 863-7077 or email bmcgloth@csuniv.edu.
We are pleased that we are able to offer this additional security at no cost to CSU faculty, staff and students.
Respectfully,
Richard B. Brewer, Jr., PhD.
