Clark Carter

Rev. Clark Carter has been at CSU since 2002. His first nine years, he served as campus minister and has been Dean of Students since 2011. He was licensed to the Gospel Ministry in 1984. With over 30 years of ministry and administrative experience, Carter has served in the local church as a senior pastor, associate pastor of family life, youth pastor, children’s and preschool minister, and associate pastor of education. He has been working with students and their families his entire ministry. He received an Associate of Science in criminal justice from the University of South Carolina in 1982, a Bachelor of Arts in religion from Charleston Southern University in 1987, and a Master of Divinity with christian education from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1992. Carter has served as an adjunct professor at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and has published for LifeWay. He has held several national, state and associational positions in Southern Baptist life. He is a member of the Association of Christians in Student Development (ACSD) and has been a member of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA).

Carter’s primary areas of responsibilities include residence life, campus ministries, career services, security, student activities, counseling services, and campus recreation. He also serves as the advisor for the Student Government Association.
