Richard Inscore


Dr. Richard Inscore is an Associate Professor of Criminal Justice at Charleston Southern University.  His philosophy of teaching is grounded in decades of domestic and international teaching designed to challenge and improve the critical thinking skills and critical writing abilities of each student.  Dr. Inscore challenges each student to move past their intellectual comfort zone to develop new strengths that will enhance their lifelong learning for improved personal fulfillment.


Dr. Inscore began his collegiate career at Wake Forest University continuing to earn an Associate of Arts and Bachelor of Applied Science degrees in History and Administration of Justice from Guilford College.  He earned a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies degree in African-American Studies and Asian Culture from the State University of New York.  Dr. Inscore began his doctoral classes in criminal justice at Northcentral University.  After a few years, he decided to seek a non-traditional doctorial route and took extra classes with international schools based in the United Kingdom.  He received his Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology-Behavior Analysis with a concentration in criminal justice from Charisma University.   


Dr. Inscore has over 40 years of experience in law enforcement, intelligence gathering, management, and investigative fields at the federal, state, and local, enforcement levels.  He has worked with foreign and domestic militaries on training and operations to include weapons platforms, intelligence gathering, and employment of sophisticated devices.  This training includes coordinating and managing sensitive investigations, developing confidential human sources, evaluation, and validation of sources, domestically and internationally.  Dr. Inscore possesses federal governmental Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearances.  He is the former Deputy Director of Training at the United States Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia where various federal, state, local agencies, multiple militaries, Congress, and Congressional staffers receive training.  Dr. Inscore supervised and instructed a myriad of classes at the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Federal Bureau of Investigation Training Academies.  These classes included firearms, hostage negations, air and vehicle high-speed pursuit, evasion, and victim removal, undercover tactics, embassy training, and teaching in the FBI National Academy and the Law Enforcement Executive Development programs.  Dr. Inscore departed Quantico for the Armed Forces Experimental Training Activity center, Camp Peary, Virginia where he remained until 2008 when he became Director of the Myrtle Beach campus of Charleston Southern University.
