Joshua Kerns

Dr. Joshua Kerns is an associate professor of the Physician Assistant program and has taught in health care education for over 10 years. He believes he has one of the best jobs in the world as a teacher of future Physician Assistants. He challenges his students to view their future patients as human beings who have been created in the image of God. He particularly enjoys showing the power of humor as a way of dealing with the stress of medical education and the stress of practicing medicine. Before joining the CSU family, Kerns taught at the Baptist College of Health Sciences in Memphis, Tennessee. He is an Army veteran who served as a Medical Service Corps officer for three years. While stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, he deployed to Iraq during 2005. Kerns lives in the Summerville area with his wife, three children and two dogs.

Your Purpose. Our Mission.

I came to CSU because I wanted to teach and learn in an environment that has a rich variety of academic pursuits informed by faith.
