DOctor of Education (EdD) in Leadership

The EdD is designed to provide current and aspiring leaders with the opportunity to pursue a professional doctoral degree. The program will consist of 60 semester hours. Courses will be offered in traditional on-campus or hybrid formats, with courses meeting in the evening. Students usually take one course per term. Courses include a leadership core, a cognate, and the research core and concludes with the defense of the dissertation.

The program is designed for working adults, and extends into all types of administrative leadership roles, including education, healthcare and business. Key elements of the program include:

  • Curriculum designed to advance knowledge and skills by studying and researching various leadership models
  • Dissertation phase allows students to develop and implement research rooted in both theory and practice
  • Research core provides advanced skills in writing and analysis
  • Ethical and character-based leadership course is unique to the CSU program of study
