About Valerie Sessions

Valerie Sessions serves as an Affiliate Professor at Charleston Southern University, supporting data mining and creative teamwork courses, as well as accreditation efforts for computer science and engineering programs. She is also employed by the Navy Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic as a computer scientist, where her recent work includes collaboration with the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) in support of AFRICOM initiatives. Her research interests include AI solutions for Electronic Security Systems (ESS) and video analytics, as well as data quality and video management systems. Dr. Sessions earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of South Carolina. She serves on the boards of Charleston Women in Tech, Women in Industry Day (WIID), and the Palmetto Roost.
