Making global impact

The Charleston Southern University Office of International Programs creates and strengthens partnerships with international universities, directs study abroad programs, and serves our domestic and international students with multicultural experiences while at CSU. Our goal is to cultivate global fluency for all CSU students and prepare our campus community to meet the learning needs of the world around us.

See below for what we have to offer!

E-Commerce Entrepreneurs

This 45-hour course is offered to entrepreneurs in Spanish for the fall 2023 semester. The curriculum provides tools to create business opportunities and an online presence. The curriculum has elements that empower entrepreneurs to thrive in the digital world and position their brands with a business, cultural, and wellness approach.

For additional information, contact us.

Interpreter Training for Health & Human Services

This 40-hour course will prepare bilingual students (English-Spanish) to take the national certification exam for medical interpreters. This is the only curriculum in South Carolina that has been approved by both national certification boards: The Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters and The National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters. CSU offers this course three times a year. It is designed to accommodate the busy schedules of working adults with Friday night and Saturday classes.

For additional information, contact us.

Global Flex Plan

This program allows students to do some of their study online (overseas) then come to campus when their situation allows. Visa denials, family issues, political border closings etc. may impact students’ ability to study in the US on any given year. This allows them to come and go, as necessary.

Global Education

Our faculty, staff, and coaches bring students to multiple locations around the world every spring and summer. Some trips include credit-earning options. To learn more about the trips planned for this summer and whether you could participate, contact us.

International Connections

International Orientation

Join your fellow new international students for three days of learning and fun. We talk about culture, adapting to college life, and American classroom expectations. Then we explore the Charleston area with kayaking, local tours and fun. You don’t want to miss this crucial time for developing friends among the international community at CSU.

International Club

Our International Club is student-led and open to all CSU students. We develop relationships, share stories, culture food and fun times. Join us for our next meeting!

International Freshman Seminar

Freshman Seminar is a part of every CSU freshman’s life, but with the International Freshman Seminar, we take it to the next level of fun. Pumpkin carving, Christmas cookie decorating, or just sharing our lives with each other, we make your first semester memorable.

Study Abroad

See our Study Abroad page for more info.

Intensive English Program

Students who wish to improve their English language fluency will study full-time for 1-3 semesters in preparation for CSU degree programs.
