About Joshua (Youngil) Kim

After completing my Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at George Washington University in 2017, I gained over five years of valuable experience as an Electrical Engineer and Researcher, specializing in Electrical Power and Energy Systems. In October 2021, I further demonstrated my commitment to the field by obtaining licensure as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Electrical and Computer Engineering in the State of Delaware.

Since Fall 2024, I have been serving as an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering in the Department of Engineering Technology at Charleston Southern University, SC. Prior to my tenure at CSU, I accumulated over three years of teaching experience, including roles as a Part-Time Professional Lecturer in Electrical and Computer Engineering at George Washington University and as an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering Technology at BridgeValley Community and Technical College in South Charleston, West Virginia.

Dr. Joshua Kim is involved in including the IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES), IEEE R2 (Southern US), and National Association of Professional Engineers (NAPE) in the U.S.A.

"I love helping people grow academically, and professionally to become what God has designed them to be. I believed that The CSU is best option to connect my EE background integrated to my faith based on the Bible."
