About Thomas Keating

Professor Thomas Keating is the Coordinator of the CSU Theatre Program where, over the last few years, he’s been teaching Acting, Directing, Stagecraft & Design, Acting for the Camera and Voice & Movement, among others. Keating directs at least two productions a year at CSU. Some favorites include, “The Diary of Anne Frank,” “West Side Story,” “King Lear,” “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” and “Hamlet.” His training in Anne Bogart’s Viewpoints and in Kristin Linklater’s vocal pedagogy make him uniquely equipped to encourage and promote excellence in theatre. His work as an actor in NYC and Boston (and tours of the U.S.) enables Keating to offer a real-world perspective as well. He is a member of Actors’ Equity Association (AEA), the union of professional actors and stage managers in the United States. As an Equity guest artist Keating has appeared on local theatre stages with College of Charleston and Midtown Productions. He also regularly directs productions at The Footlight Players theatre downtown. In addition to his acting and directing work, Keating also writes and voices characters for local animation company, Moondog Animation Studio. Keating attends Seacoast Church in Mt. Pleasant where he regularly assists with their productions, including the Easter Passion play, “The Thorn.”
