Clinical Preceptors

Supervised clinical practice experiences or clinical rotations are of critical importance to a successful learning experience for our students. Students in the program are required to complete 9 five week rotations with clinical preceptors in the following areas:

  • Family Medicine
  • Internal Medicine
  • Emergency Medicine
  • Surgery
  • Pediatrics
  • Psychiatry
  • Women’s Health
  • Electives

Under the supervision of clinical preceptors, students will progressively develop the skills and clinical judgment necessary to become a practicing PA.

We welcome your partnership with us in preparing the next generation of PA clinicians. We recognize that successful student clinical rotations require a collaborative effort from students, preceptors, and the program. This is why we have created a preceptor handbook with specific information for preceptors working with students in the CSU PA Program. We will be happy to provide it upon request.

If you are interested in being a clinical preceptor for the CSU PA Program, contact Justin Goebel, Director of Clinical Education, at jgoebel@csuniv.edu.

“We are looking to foster relationships with individuals in and around Charleston who are committed to CSU, the PA profession, and to being a part of improving access to quality healthcare in our community.”
