Access to on-campus healthcare at CSU

By Jenna Johnson | August 27, 2021

Charleston Southern University continued its partnership with Fetter Health Care Network for the 2021-2022 academic year, offering students and employees access to healthcare on campus. Beginning September 1, Fetter, a nonprofit healthcare organization, will provide a mobile unit each Wednesday from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. in the Student Center parking lot.

Available to all members of CSU’s campus community, CSU covers the copay for all students. Faculty and staff are responsible for their own copays. Insurance information will be collected on all patients, so if a student’s insurance has a high deductible and does not cover 100% of their visit, they may receive a bill just like any other medical facility. However, there are no out-of-pocket costs on the day of the visit.

Fetter will offer COVID-19 testing and vaccinations in limited quantities on site every Wednesday. To reserve, individuals must notify Fetter ahead of time at 843.466.6129. Pfizer, Moderna, and Janssen COVID-19 vaccines are available upon request and coordination.

Appointments may be scheduled at an off-campus Fetter location, where students can be seen within 24-48 hours. CSU will also cover the copay for students who need an in-person appointment. Visit fetterhealthcare.org/our-locations to learn more or, for more urgent needs, call the after-hours line at 843.722.4112.
