Campus WideEmergency Alerts

In anticipation of severe weather tomorrow, March 5, Charleston Southern University will close offices and pivot to online learning. Students scheduled to attend in-person classes should log on to Blackboard for further instruction. To ensure the safety of our campus community, only essential personnel and residents will remain on campus during this time. Employees should discuss remote work options with their supervisor.

Dining services, Rivers Library, and the Brewer Center will remain open for residents.

CSU will resume normal operations on Thursday, March 6.

Severe weather is expected to impact most of the South Carolina Lowcountry on Wednesday, bringing thunderstorms with strong winds. The forecast includes sustained winds between 36 to 46 miles per hour with possible gusts up to 75 miles per hour. The National Weather Service issued a moderate wind advisory for Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester counties from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow. The strongest part of the storm will occur closer to midday and will quickly move through the area. Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines, so power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially on elevated bridges.

Please remain vigilant in monitoring local weather updates as well as the latest BucAlert announcements. Residents are encouraged to stay indoors and review weather emergency procedures here: www.charlestonsouthern.edu/wx

Stay safe, Bucs!
