About Richard McPhail

Dr. Austin McPhail serves as an assistant professor within the Physical Therapy department. He earned his Bachelor of Art in Psychology from NC State University in 2012, and his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from East Carolina University in 2018. Dr. McPhail then worked in an outpatient physical therapy clinic, with primary focus on patients who are overhead athletes and patients with persistent pain. He received his Clinical Specialty in Orthopedic Physical Therapy in 2022.

"When I first began my career as a physical therapist, I didn't realize how important working in a God centered entity was to me. The clinic I worked at immediately out of school was owned and operated by a God fearing couple who was unashamedly Christian business owners. They instilled in me the values of being surrounded by other Christians, encouraging prayer and quiet time with God, and doing so without reservation. The fact that CSU fosters these same values made my decision to uproot my wife and I to a different state, farther away from family, a much easier decision."
