The College of Health Sciences offers a public health degree in both a Bachelor of Science (BS) and a Bachelor of Arts (BA). Students completing the Bachelor of Arts (BA) in public health degree program can pursue careers or further education in areas such as health promotion, law, child life, counseling, advocacy, education, and social work. The Bachelor of Science (BS) in public health degree program at CSU is ideal for students interested in clinical fields such as occupational health, medicine, physician assistant, nutrition, occupational therapy, epidemiology, physical therapy, and speech pathology.

The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Public Health introduces students to how health is shaped by communities, policies, and social conditions, while preparing them to address today’s public health challenges. The program builds a strong academic foundation for graduate study in public health or related fields and helps students develop skills to support community well-being through health education, advocacy, and public policy.

The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Public Health: Preprofessional Health Studies program builds a strong foundation in public health while supporting preprofessional interests in clinical and allied health fields such as medicine, physician assistant, nutrition, occupational therapy, epidemiology, physical therapy, speech pathology, and more. Students can tailor the lab science requirements to best fit the graduate-level program of their choice, helping them align coursework with specific prerequisites and career goals.
