About Kevin Bowers
Kevin brings more than 25 years of domestic and international sport industry experience to the field of sport management. His professional background spans management, leadership, athletic administration, and international Olympic strategy development. He also has more than seven years of athletic administration experience, during which he provided leadership and oversight for more than 250 coaches.
In 2026, Bowers joined Charleston Southern University as a Professor of Sport Management in the Hans A. Nielsen College of Business. He brings a practitioner-focused perspective to the classroom, drawing upon his extensive experience in sport organizations and his engagement with sport across both domestic and international settings.
His research interests include global sport development, youth sport, and the role of sport in community development. Through his teaching and research, Bowers is particularly interested in exploring how sport organizations, leaders, and programs can contribute to the development of people and communities.
