About Angela Weaver
Angela C. Weaver grew up in Summerville, S.C. After graduating from Clemson with a BA in psychology, she moved back to the Lowcountry and completed a Master of Education in school counseling at The Citadel. She worked as an elementary School Counselor in Charleston County public schools for six years, helping children through individual and group counseling. She then completed a PhD in Professional Counseling from Liberty University, a degree that gave her an in-depth understanding of how to integrate the Christian worldview and theology into psychology and the clinical counseling process. Her dissertation research topics included the areas of eating disorders, emotional regulation, adult attachment and attachment to God. Dr. Weaver has been a Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina since 2009 and joined the faculty of Charleston Southern University in 2019. She currently serves as the Department Chair in the Department of Counseling.
"I choose to work at CSU because I love teaching students how to integrate and grow their faith as they learn about various psychological concepts in my classes."
