About David Floyd

David Floyd is an associate professor of English at Charleston Southern University in Charleston, SC. He earned his PhD in Victorian genre fiction (proto-science fiction, fantasy, imperial, and adventure literature) from Stirling University in Scotland. He has done presentations on literature and folklore in England, Scotland, and the US.

His book Street Urchins, Sociopaths, and Degenerates: Orphans of Late-Victorian and Edwardian Fiction was published in 2014. The same year, his essay “The Sport of Opposite Forces: Bram Stoker’s Generational Anxiety” was included in Bram Stoker: Centenary Essays.
