About Dawn Casas

Dr. Dawn Casas serves as Chair and Assistant Professor of Communication. She holds a Ph.D. in Communication Studies, an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, and a B.A. in Communication. Her teaching and research interests focus on interpersonal and intercultural communication, particularly how people navigate conflict in relationships.
First and foremost, Dr. Casas views herself as a teacher, working to make communication concepts come alive in the classroom and helping students connect theory to everyday life. She has been recognized with several honors for her teaching, including “Most Creative Professor” at Nyack College (2004) and the Faculty Recognition of Excellence award at Regent University (2009).
