About Maxwell Rollins

Dr. Maxwell Rollins is the Assistant Dean of Business for Graduate Programs and a tenured professor at Charleston Southern University’s Hans A. Nielsen College of Business. He holds degrees in mathematics, education, and business administration, and a Doctor of Business Administration in leadership.

Dr. Rollins began at CSU in 1993 and has taught various subjects in both the Mathematics Department and the College of Business. Since earning his DBA in 2017, he also teaches graduate leadership and ethics courses. He has received multiple teaching awards, including the CSU Excellence in Teaching and Governor’s Distinguished Professor Award, and serves as a faculty sponsor for Alpha Chi. In June 2024, he became Assistant Dean of Business for Graduate Programs.

A former entrepreneur, Dr. Rollins ran a mobile DJ service for 40 years, wrote for Mobile Beat magazine, and published a book for DJs. His research focuses on leadership, entrepreneurship, and pedagogy. He served six years in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear machinist mate.

Dr. Rollins and his wife, Donna, have two grown children and a granddaughter. They live in Summerville and are active members of Summerville Baptist Church.
