By Jan Joslin | December 13, 2021

The university is saddened to report that Louise O’Neal passed away Sunday, Dec. 12. She was 77 years old.

O’Neal was employed at CSU for 34 years before her retirement in May 2021. She was hired as a cashier in the business office and later joined the development office as a data entry specialist and also recorded the donations made to the university.

David Baggs, vice president for development, said, “Over her years in development, Louise entered more than $100 million in gifts and generated tens of thousands of thank-you letters in our efforts to thank our donors. Louise was greatly appreciated by her colleagues, and we were blessed by her wisdom and spirit.”

O’Neal received a CSU Women in History award in 2019, recognizing her contribution to CSU.

Known for her contagious laughter and interest in others, O’Neal was always ready to lead the development office in a celebration.
