Big South Virtual 5K begins Oct. 18

By Jenna Johnson | October 16, 2020

The Hercules Tires Big South Virtual 5K race, which serves as a fundraising opportunity for youth athletics programs, will be held virtually from Oct. 18 through Nov. 15. Participants will have four weeks to complete the 5K–at home, on a track, on a trail, in a park or on a treadmill. They record and submit their time online.

Registration is available at bigsouth5k.com–those who sign up through Oct. 18 receive a race T-shirt and bib to wear in November. During registration, choose “Charleston Southern University” for your proceeds to go directly to the YMCA of Greater Charleston Young Athletic Programs.

The annual Big South 5K Road Race was created in 2010 to serve as a fundraiser for middle school athletics in Mecklenburg and Union Counties of North Carolina.
