CSU Named a Top Yellow Ribbon School

U.S. Veterans Magazine has named Charleston Southern University a 2026 Top Yellow Ribbon School.
Each year the magazine conducts a national evaluation identifying institutions who go above and beyond in supporting military-connected students.
Nearly 20% of the Charleston Southern student population is military-connected as veterans, active-duty service members, or military family members. Their courage, discipline, and faith enrich the campus and embody the university’s mission.
“Our military-connected students are a vital part of our university family. Charleston Southern has a proud tradition of serving those who have served our country, and we are humbled to be recognized for that service.”
Yellow Ribbon Schools are evaluated by U.S. Veterans Magazine for the Top Yellow Ribbon School honor. Mona Lisa Faris, magazine president and publisher, said, “Our team dives deep into each submission and supplements our findings with public records, interviews, reader feedback, press coverage, and presence at veteran-focused conferences and events.”

As part of its commitment to military-connected students, CSU is currently fundraising to build the P. Cecil Patrick Jr. Family Veterans Center, which will house the Office of Military Services and provide spaces and services specifically for CSU veteran students.
Charleston Southern University is also recognized as a Military Friendly® Gold School, Military Spouse Friendly® School, and a Purple Heart University.
