Charleston Southern University campus community is excited to kick off the 7th year of Operation Christmas Child shoebox collection. CSU has packed more than 50,000 total packed boxes for Operation Christmas Child since 2019, which is more shoeboxes than any other college or university in the nation.

As believers we celebrate Christmas and the Gift that God gave us through His Son Jesus Christ. The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations.

Charleston Southern University’s goal for this year is to pack 14,000 boxes that are FUN, FULL, & PERSONALIZED! Below is a list of opportunities for you to get involved in helping CSU reach its goal!

August 2, 2025: OCC Collection @ Charleston RiverDogs

September 1, 2025 through November 2025: OCC Collection @ East Bay Deli | The University Blvd N. Charleston location will be collecting toys and school supplies this fall!

September 1, 2025 through November 2025: OCC Collection @ Flight Adventure Park | Rivers Ave. N. Charleston location will be collecting toys and school supplies this fall!

September 16, 2025: Zaxby’s | all day at University Blvd N. Charleston location | 10% of all profits go to OCC

September 29, 2025: Biggby Coffee | all day at Trolley Road Summerville location | ROUND UP your purchase with proceeds go to OCC

October 16, 2025: Come Back Shack | 11 a.m.-10 p.m. University Blvd N. Charleston location | 25% proceeds go to OCC

October 18, 2025: OCC Collection at CSU Night @ Charleston Battery | Enjoy an evening out with CSU as we cheer on the local professional soccer team. Bring any supply for OCC to the main gate to receive a FREE ticket for the game!

November 14, 2025: Jets + Vets OCC Collection Night @ SC Stingrays | Enjoy a night of hockey and bring supplies or make a donation!

November 18, 2025: OCC Collection Day | 11 a.m. at Reflection Pond. Come one, come all! Bring your packed boxes as we count to determine our top Student Packers and CSU Department Champions! 

November 20, 2025: OCC Packing Party | 7 p.m. in Lightsey Chapel. Bucs Pack! Faculty, Students, Staff, and Families wear your family friendly Christmas Pajamas and get ready for a night of Fun at our biggest packing event of the Year! We will pack shoeboxes together and celebrate all God has done through OCC and CSU!

Donation Locations:

Beginning August 2025, you can donate your OCC items for the packing party in 3 locations:

  • Lobby of The Hub | 2nd floor of Rivers Library
  • Lobby of Student Center West, across from the Campus Store
  • Lobby of Lightsey Chapel

Need a shoebox? Beginning in September, students, faculty, and staff may pick up an OCC branded shoebox at any of the above locations to prepare for Collection Day on November 18!

Can’t make it in person or on campus? Build a shoebox online in CSU’s virtual build-a-box center.
