David has spent his career in higher education development. With 30 years of fundraising experience, he has provided leadership in both private and public universities. David has served at CSU since 2010. Prior to CSU, he served in senior leadership roles at Cleveland State University, Lake Erie College, The College of William & Mary, and Asbury University. His diverse background has been foundational to his success as a leader, relationship builder, and fundraiser.
About David Baggs
David Baggs currently serves as the Vice President for Advancement. He leads the outreach efforts for the university and is responsible for private resource development to meet the university’s strategic objectives. He is also responsible for developing and growing strong relationships with CSU alumni, friends, corporations, and the local community.
David has been active in the Lowcountry community and currently serves on the board for the Charleston Regional Development Alliance and is a member of the Historic Rotary Club of Charleston. He recently completed his terms as a member of the board for HCA Trident Health and the Berkeley Chamber of Commerce. David is a graduate of Asbury University (BA in Education), the University of Arkansas (MED), and Charleston Southern University (EdD). David is also a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE).
