About Joshua Wofford

Dr. Wofford has served at Charleston Southern University since fall 2018 and is an associate professor in the chemistry department. Dr. Wofford engages in research to understand the kinetics and regulation of metal trafficking in S. cerevisiae with applications to human health and disease and has published multiple high-impact papers in this research. This research takes an experimental and computational approach that combines the two methods into mathematical models that will hopefully become tools to help other researchers in the field.
Dr. Wofford is married to Dr. Elizabeth Wofford of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, and they have two children and quite a few pets running around the house

"I find purpose in equipping our students for careers that will enrich them and bring glory to God. I do my best not only to teach, but to encourage. I love CSU because we get to know our students and come along side them as they live their lives and study hard."
