About Lauren Davis

Lauren Davis, DMS, PA-C, is a principal faculty member and Clinical Medicine Course Director at the Charleston Southern University Physician Assistant Program. She is passionate about preparing future physician assistants to think critically, act decisively, and provide high-quality patient care. Her work centers on developing clinical reasoning skills in didactic students, with an emphasis on applying foundational knowledge to real clinical scenarios. She is particularly interested in creating learning experiences that challenge students to synthesize information, recognize patterns, and make sound diagnostic decisions early in their training.
Dr. Davis values a supportive, high-expectation learning environment and is committed to helping students grow both academically and professionally. She enjoys mentoring students as they build confidence and transition into clinical practice. Originally from Charleston, South Carolina, she is married with two daughters. Outside of work, she enjoys reading mystery novels and hanging out with friends and family.

"My goal is to help students develop clinical reasoning early, so they can confidently apply their knowledge in real patient care situations. This means designing learning experiences that challenge them to synthesize information, recognize patterns, and make decisions—not simply recall facts. I am intentional about creating a supportive but high-expectation environment where students feel comfortable engaging, asking questions, and learning from mistakes. I also prioritize accessibility and mentorship, making myself available to guide students as they navigate both academic challenges and professional growth. "
