Kindall N. Smith, MM is the Admissions Coordinator for the CSU Physician Assistant Program. She brings over a decade of experience in public education, curriculum development, and student mentorship. With a lifelong passion for higher education access and student success, Mrs. Smith is honored to support prospective PA students on their path to meaningful healthcare careers.
A Mount Pleasant, South Carolina native, she earned her Master of Music in Saxophone Performance from The Hartt School and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and a Performance Certificate in Saxophone.
Her passion for music and medicine began early, shaped by her upbringing in a family of healthcare professionals. After leading award-winning music programs for over a decade, she transitioned into integrative and functional medicine, providing patient-centered support in a clinical setting.
Across both fields, Mrs. Smith developed strong skills in data analysis, reporting, and systems management—skills she now applies to admissions operations and data coordination at CSU. Her own health journey has deepened her commitment to wellness and informs the empathy she brings to her work.
A lifelong learner, she aspires to pursue a doctoral degree to broaden her impact in education, healthcare, and interdisciplinary research. She is especially interested in the connection between music, neuroscience, cognition, and brain-based learning. She holds professional affiliations with the Performing Arts Medicine Association (PAMA) and the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA).
Outside of CSU, she performs as a professional saxophonist and teaches privately throughout the tri-county area. She enjoys time with family, traveling, reading, yoga, and holistic living. Mrs. Smith believes that faith, education, the arts, and service form the foundation of a meaningful life—each offering a path to healing, growth, and connection.
Your Purpose. Our Mission.
For me, going the extra mile means showing up with consistency, compassion, and clarity in every interaction. In my role as Admissions Coordinator, I strive to make the admissions process feel personal and human—not just transactional. Whether it's answering questions after hours, walking an applicant through a confusing step, or simply offering encouragement during a stressful time, I aim to meet students where they are and remind them that they’re not alone in this journey.
Kindall Smith
Because of my background in both education and healthcare, I understand the pressures and vulnerability that can come with pursuing a purposeful career. I use that awareness to create a supportive space where students feel seen, heard, and valued. Behind the scenes, I go the extra mile by ensuring our data and systems are organized and efficient, so students experience a smooth and thoughtful admissions process from start to finish.
Ultimately, I believe going the extra mile is about investing in people. It’s about being intentional in the small moments—because those are often the ones that matter most.
