Angela C. Weaver grew up in Summerville, S.C. After graduating from Clemson with a BA in psychology, she moved back to the Lowcountry and completed a Master of Education in school counseling at The Citadel. She worked as an elementary School Counselor in Charleston County public schools for six years, helping children through individual and group counseling. She then completed a PhD in counseling from Liberty University, a degree that gave her an in-depth understanding of how to integrate the Christian worldview and theology into psychology and the clinical counseling process. Her dissertation research topics included the areas of eating disorders, emotional regulation, adult attachment and attachment to God. Weaver worked in a clinical practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor for 10 years, while also teaching as an adjunct professor for both CSU in undergraduate psychology and more extensively at Liberty University in the graduate counseling department. During this time, she launched the Christian Mental Health Network of South Carolina in 2011, a professional organization that provides continuing education and networking for Christian counselors, where she continues to serve on the Board of Directors. In August of 2019, Weaver joined the Psychology Department at CSU as an Assistant Professor.

Your Purpose. Our Mission.

I choose to work at CSU because I love teaching students how to integrate and grow their faith as they learn about various psychological concepts in my classes.
