Charleston Southern’s chapel lineup kicks off on Aug. 26, 2026 with a morning of prayer and worship at the traditional Prayer First service. Held annually during Welcome Week, members of the CSU community—staff, faculty, athletics, students—lead the campus community in prayer over various areas to set the tone for the entire academic year ahead.

“It is our hope this semester that our students will give God the open door to do what He wants to do in and through their lives. We have an amazing list of chapel speakers this semester who will be engaging our students with that goal in mind.””

Chapels are held each Wednesday morning at 11 in Lightsey Chapel, where students receive credit for attendance. Employees, alumni, and friends are always welcome to join. Those who are unable to attend in person can watch the livestream on the CSU YouTube channel

CSU’s newest leader of campus ministries also shared that the weekly Thursday night Bible study, Elevate, moves to a new time this year—7 p.m. Students are invited back to Lightsey Chapel each Thursday evening to worship and dive deeper into the Word.

This semester, Elevate attendees will embark on a series called Testimony Talks. Students will hear from local pastors, faculty, and staff, with the goal of presenting the gospel through individual testimonies.
