Five Board of Trustees members who began serving in 2021 rotated off the board in October 2025.
Several served one term, and one ended his fifth term on the CSU Board of Trustees.
President B. Keith Faulkner said, “We have an amazing board. Thank you for pouring into us, sharing your wisdom, and loving our students.”
Randy Eller, a retired president and CEO of construction, from Roanoke, Virginia, served from 2021-2025.
William Renfrow, founder of Renfrow Industrial in Spartanburg, served from 2021-2025.
Adam Robertson, who served from 2021-2025, is president of Commercial Bank in Harrogate, Tennessee.
Alex Sands, pastor of Kingdom Life Church in Greenville, served from 2001-2025. In addition to the CSU BOT, Sands has held leadership positions with the Southern Baptist Convention and the South Carolina Baptist Convention.
Jerry Williams has served BOT terms in 1994-1998, 2000-2004, 2008-2012, 2014-2018, and 2021-2025. During that time, he served terms as chair and vice chair of the board. He is a retired bank group executive. Williams also served as the chair of the search committees which brought Dr. Dondi Costin to CSU in 2018 as CSU’s third president and President Keith Faulkner in 2023 as CSU’s fourth president.
Williams said, “It has been my pleasure to serve on this board many years. My heart is always with Charleston Southern.”

Jan Joslin has four decades of experience in higher education, working in marketing and communication and student services. In her current position as content director, she serves as editor of CSU Magazine and is the primary writer and editor for the university. Former areas of work included coordinating student activities and new student orientation and serving as the adviser to student media. Prior to higher education, she was as a customer service representative for a global company.
