Hurricane Florence Updates

By CSU Media | September 10, 2018

Due to the approach of Hurricane Florence, all classes at Charleston Southern will end today, September 10, 2018 at 2 p.m. Students must use Blackboard to keep up with assignments until classes resume.

All campus offices will close today at 4 p.m. and remain closed until further notice. All sporting events, campus activities and campus visits are canceled after 4 p.m. today. Only essential personnel should report to campus on Tuesday, September 11.

To allow for an orderly departure, all students living in the residence halls and hotel should evacuate campus as soon as possible. All residence halls will close at noon on September 11. Any resident student without an evacuation location should contact the Housing Office immediately (843-863-7190) or their Residence Life Coordinator. It is imperative that all resident students complete a copy of the Evacuation Residential Form before leaving campus. Students may also obtain a form from their RA or the Housing Office.

International students should contact the director of international programs, Stephanie Levan, if they have not already done so for evacuation plans.

The dining hall will remain open until noon, September 11.

All faculty and staff are encouraged to monitor local media sources to determine whether they should evacuate the area.

Campus officials will continue to monitor the situation and issue updates as necessary. Please monitor CSU social media, BUC Alert, and the CSU website at charlestonsouthern.edu for additional information.
