Monitoring tropical cyclone

By Jenna Johnson | September 15, 2024

The Charleston Southern University Emergency Management Team is monitoring a tropical disturbance off the South Carolina coast. According to the National Hurricane Center on Sunday, we should expect bands of rain, wind gusts up to 40 mph, rip currents, and minor to moderate coastal flooding through Tuesday.

As of now, CSU will remain on its current operating schedule. If the storm intensifies, we will alert the campus of changes to in-person learning before 7 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 16. As always, important updates will be sent via campuswide email, with urgent releases also communicated via BucAlert, the website, and social media as necessary.

Stay safe, Bucs!
