Your Future in Human Resources

The Bachelor of Science in human resource management program at Charleston Southern prepares students on subjects including labor relations, law, compensation, employee recruiting, training, development and more. This online degree is for a full-time working adult who wants to work in a human resources position to help a company support, train, develop and manage employees.

Overall employment for workers in human resource management positions is expected to grow much faster than the average for all other professions, with a 22 percent growth rate over the next 10 years (Bureau of Labor Statistics). Many entry-level jobs in human resources fields require a bachelor’s degree in something related to human resources, making the bachelor’s in human resources the perfect complement to any human resources candidate’s resume.

The BS in human resources is aligned with the Society for Human Resource Management’s (SHRM) HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates. Students enrolled in their final year are eligible to sit for the SHRM-CP team. Students must also have at least 500 hours of an internship or practical HR experience and must be in good standing with CSU.

CSU is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges and was recently ranked as #11 nationwide for Best Online Bachelor’s Programs (US News & World Report, 2020).
