The Waiting Life

By CSU Media | September 27, 2018
Dr. Steven Wade

Dr. Steven Wade, a professor at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and a pastor, spoke in Chapel on Sept. 26 about waiting.

“The Bible describes the Christian life as a life of waiting,” said Wade. Referencing Titus 2:11-14, he said there are two questions everyone needs to answer:

  1. What are you waiting on?
  2. How are you waiting?

Is your hope found in possessions, power, position, pleasure or approval? The focus of your attention reveals what you are waiting on.

For Christians, the grace of God has already appeared in Jesus Christ, bringing salvation and instructions on how to live. Believers have the blessed hope of the return of Christ.

As we wait for the glory of God, Christ’s return, we are being transformed by grace. Wade said, “God’s grace is teaching you right now, training you in godliness.”
