Emergency Alerts

Due to the impacts of winter weather, Charleston Southern University will pivot to online learning and close campus offices Monday, February 2. Students scheduled to attend in-person classes should login to Blackboard for further instruction.

With the exception of essential personnel and limited hours in certain areas serving residential students, all offices and buildings will be closed on Monday. Employees should discuss remote work options with their supervisor.

CSU plans to resume normal operations on Tuesday, February 3. We will send additional updates should there be any change in the forecast or road safety conditions.

Dining:
The Caf will remain open for residents from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Monday. Retail locations including Java City, Chick-fil-A, The Buc Stop, and The Galleys will remain closed unless conditions allow staff to safely travel. Follow the Dining Services Instagram for updates on locations and hours.

Library:
The Rivers Library will be open 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Monday.

Campus Recreation:
Though all intramural games are cancelled today and tomorrow, the Brewer Center will be open 2 – 8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Monday.

Athletics:
The men’s basketball game vs. Gardner-Webb on Monday evening has been rescheduled to February 17.

Latest Forecast:
According to local forecasters, our area should plan for dangerous road conditions on Monday morning. The freezing temperatures Sunday night could result in refreezing and black ice on roadways.

For cold weather safety tips, go to the National Weather Service website.

Please remain vigilant in monitoring local weather updates as well as the latest BucAlert announcements.

Stay safe (and warm), Bucs!
