Singleton Complex rounding third, headed for home

During the past two weeks, activity has increased daily outside the soon-to-be completed Singleton Baseball Complex. The “Love is Stronger” memorial plaza is starting to take shape as all nine of the Palmetto trees are now planted to pay tribute to the nine lives lost in the Emanuel AME shooting. Physical plant facilities director, Nick Cimorelli, says all concrete work will be complete before Christmas. Furniture will be placed in the two-story building in the first week of the new year. The Sharonda Coleman-Singleton Enrichment Center will celebrate her life and legacy and will serve as a gathering space for athletes. Former CSU baseball player, Chris Singleton, was Sharonda Coleman-Singleton’s son. On January 5, landscaping trees, sod, shrubs and flowers will be added to complete the exterior aesthetics of this project. The CSU Singleton Baseball Complex will house a baseball locker room, a training room and the Enrichment Center. On the second floor, the head coach’s office will occupy space along with a meeting room for team personnel. Prior to the 2018 CSU baseball season, a ribbon cutting ceremony will formally dedicate the project as a gathering space for athletes to learn and to grow spiritually and academically.
