Changes are coming soon for Charleston Southern University’s College of Business. Starting fall 2020, prospective graduate students may choose between a 10-month accelerated online MBA or a flex MBA for those who desire a more traditional pace.

These new options are a direct outcome of surveying current students and analyzing market trends, according to the Director of Graduate Programs for the College of Business Dr. Maxwell Rollins. Research results pointed to time as a major criterion in the decision to go to graduate school.

The 10-month accelerated MBA will be taught in 7-week semesters, which will allow students to take four courses each semester versus two. Flex MBA students can choose from online or on-campus courses, completing the program in as little as 17 months. Most flex courses are available in the 7-week format as well. Both the accelerated and the flex MBAs are 30-hour programs and include emphases in general management, healthcare management and supply chain management.

“Charleston Southern has prepared its MBA graduates with the skills for success in the world of business for nearly 30 years,” Rollins said. “Students will develop their skills and gain advanced knowledge to prepare them to meet greater challenges in the marketplace.”

Prime candidates for the 10-month MBA are recent graduates or professionals with a flexible schedule. Students must be able to dedicate a considerable amount of time to their graduate work at an accelerated pace.

Priority admission applications are available until April 15 for the 10-month MBA fall 2020 cohort. July 1 is the final deadline for all accelerated program applications (August 1 for flex MBA). The first 10-month MBA cohort will have 22 students.

Rollins said, “Each course is infused with a biblical worldview. Students will recognize that work is a God-given responsibility and they should use their gifts to continue His grand creation. We believe that our MBA will help students in their calling to serve others so they can imbed themselves in society and lead it to flourish.”
