Shay Robbins spoke to the first chapel of the new semester, fresh from a run around the CSU campus. His message to the students was clear and to the point.  Don’t run from something, run to it.

Robbins, camp director at Kanakuk Camps, shared his affection for running and his experience in attempting his first marathon. The training, the commitment, the desire are all components needed that are translatable to a decision to run with Jesus. “Slow and steady is not the way to go,” implored Robbins. “Don’t pace yourself as you pursue a relationship with the God of the universe.”

Robbins encouraged students to realize God’s plan for their lives.  “God will give you the energy, insight and wisdom,” he said. We all will fall as we run this race, but how will we respond? The best results occur if you run to something.

Run:

If the devil and his agents trip us up, we should get up and “run for life,” said Robbins.

Robbins invited the students to attend a continuation of this theme at Elevate, scheduled for 8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 11 in Lightsey Chapel.
