At Charleston Southern University, we integrate faith into every aspect of learning, leading and serving. Our mission is clear: to prepare servant leaders who pursue significant lives through the combination of passion, purpose, and vocation.

Our students don’t just study—they serve.

Through classroom initiatives, CSU students make a meaningful difference in their communities and beyond. From creating innovative solutions like distraction bags for children in foster care to mentoring elementary school students, our campus community demonstrates servant leadership daily.

The impact extends globally through our healthcare programs, where Nursing, PA, and Physical Therapy students apply their skills during international service trips.

Our commitment to Operation Christmas Child has established CSU as the leading university contributor in the nation for several years. Just since 2019, the university has packed over 60,000 boxes for children around the world and we are gearing up for more and more each passing year.

CSU students serve by helping the widows and shut ins of a community in Tennessee.

Additionally, each year students participate in CSU Service Day, which is part of our Week of Service and a Sweet 16 event. In the first year, over 160 students and staff volunteered at various locations across the Charleston region, contributing more than 350 hours of community service. The week has featured events like American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, which attracted nearly 1,000 attendees, donation drives for the Ronald McDonald House and March of Dimes, and partnering with the Red Cross for an on-campus blood drive.
