The Miss Charleston Southern University scholarship pageant has been a tradition at CSU since 1994. As a preliminary pageant for the Miss America Organization, one of the nation’s largest scholarship providers to young women, Miss CSU receives a $1,000 scholarship and moves forward to compete at the Miss South Carolina scholarship pageant during the summer of her reign.
Through this affiliation with Miss America, Miss CSU learns many important life skills including: public speaking, interviewing, physical fitness, and service. Miss Charleston Southern embodies the values of CSU through her commitment to learning, her leadership among her peers, and her service in our community.

Miss CSU 2023: Keiara Williams
Keiara is a 2023 alumnus of Charleston Southern University. She majored in biochemistry, with a minor in aerospace studies. Keiara was very active in our campus community, serving as the President of the One Accord Gospel Choir and as the Cadet Mission Support Group Commander for Detachment 772s AFROTC Program. She is taking her education to the next level at Howard University’s College of Dentistry this fall! Keiara ultimately desires to follow in her father’s footsteps by serving our great nation in the United States Air Force as a Commissioned Officer and dental care specialist. With her community service initiative, she believes true happiness is just “One Smile Away!” She is utilizing her platform as Miss CSU to inform youth about the importance of practicing proper oral hygiene.
